The Riding Arena at Leirubakki is used a great deal all year, both as a horse stable and a sleeping hall for tourists. Riding classes are often held in the Riding Arena and it is from there that horseback-riding trips generally depart. Horse shows and programs on the Icelandic horse are often put on there for tourists.
The loft of the Riding Arena has a sleeping room, the Riding Arena Loft, where up to 40 people can sleep on mattresses. This facility is very popular with horsemen travelling around the country in the summers.
Many groups stop at Leirubakki, spend one or more nights there, rent stalls for their horses and enjoy the comforts of Leirubakki during their stay.
The stables at the arena always have horses for sale or show. Breaking and training of horses takes place all year.
